30-hour Safety & Health in General Industry Training Program, IASP-USA

The IASP 30-hour General Industry training is designed for managers and supervisors to act as a guide to growing and nurturing a safety culture in your workplace. This course will provide a comprehensive overview of OSHA’s policies, procedures, and standards covered by 29 CFR Part 1910.

As an HSE Manager/ HSE Supervisor, you will learn about various elements of a workplace safety and health program and how to manage them. This includes understanding your employer's responsibilities for worker safety, as well as you and your employee’s rights to learn about the potential hazards of your job.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this training program, participants will:

  • Understand what OSHA is, its role, the inspection requirements for recording injuries and illnesses, the rights of employers and employees during inspections, the types of citations and penalties issued by OSHA, and more.

  • Know the role of the supervisor and the importance of the overall company health and safety programs, as well as the need for effective communication.

  • Understand fall protection, fire prevention, the nature of bloodborne pathogens and how to prevent risk and minimize exposure, ergonomics, and more.

  • Know the difference between confined spaces and permit-required confined spaces.

  • Know the three elements of a Process Safety Management System (PSM) and how it can help prevent catastrophic incidents when working with and around hazardous chemicals.

  • Know and Identify proper machine guarding, as well as how to prevent potential injuries.

  • Know the best practices when working with scaffolding, as well as requirements for erecting, assessing, and dismantling scaffolds. Furthermore, participants will understand hoists, slings, and aerial lifts.

  • Understand the importance of preventative measures and risk mitigation processes as they pertain to heat stress and illnesses.
