Hazard Communication and GHS- Chemical Safety Training
Approved Course

OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard (HAZCOM) was first adopted in 1983 in the United States with limited scope (48 FR 53280; November 25, 1983). In 1987, the scope was expanded to cover all industries where employees are potentially exposed to hazardous chemicals (52 FR 31852; August 24, 1987).
OSHA revised its Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) to align with the United Nations’ Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) and published it in the Federal Register in March 2012 (77 FR 17574). In this course, participants learn why the new standard[ GHS] is important and what are the changes.

Providing chemical safety training to your employees is essential. It helps your business ensure that all employees meet the minimum requirements of safety knowledge that is required by the government.
According to Occupational Safety & Health Law - UAE Government, employers are required to control exposure to hazardous chemicals to prevent ill health. Contractors have to protect both employees and others who may be exposed by complying with the Control of Hazardous Chemicals to Health Regulations. Contractors should assess risks, implement measures needed to control exposure, and establish good working practices
Employees who are new to an organization or who are young people suffer more accidents and ill health than the rest of the working population. Chemical Safety training and orientation in the workplace are essential to protect employees. Failing to train employees in basic health and safety is an offense and may lead to prosecution, increased civil claims, poor employee relations, and poor performance in the organization. The hazardous chemicals course we have developed provides an interactive experience for trainees to learn the basic elements of health, safety, and environment in the workplace, how they can be involved in risk assessments and what to look out for at work.
In this training, participants will learn the risk to health from chemicals, risk assessment, and adequate measures that should be implemented to prevent or control employees from being exposed to hazardous substances. Also, they will learn why it's very important to work safely, the benefits of working safely, legal requirements and compliance, and the foundation of the HSE Management System.
Whether you are an employer or an employee, this training course will benefit you.

Chemical safety practices globally have been steadily expanding over the years, especially after the 2012 adoption of elements of the United Nations’ Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals into OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard (1910.1200).
Notably, this action led to new hazard labeling requirements, the creation of the 16-section Safety Data Sheet format, and new hazard classifications.
