Ergonomics is the relationship between humans and their work environment.
An ergonomic process uses the principles of a safety and health program to address MSD hazards. Such a process should be viewed as an ongoing function that is incorporated into the daily operations, rather than as an individual project.
Implementing an ergonomic process is effective in reducing the risk of developing MSDs in high-risk industries as diverse as construction, food processing, firefighting, office jobs, healthcare, transportation, and warehousing.
The objectives of Ergonomics Training are as follows:
To optimize the integration of man and machine in order to increase productivity with accuracy.
To take care of the factors governing the physical and mental strain (i.e. fatigue) so as to get maximum satisfaction for the worker which at the same time enhances the productivity.
Using Safety Data Sheets Correctly: We will now have a specified 16-section format.
Attempts to minimize the risk of injury, illness, accidents, and errors without compromising productivity.
To improve the design of the machine at the initial design stage or later whenever the existing product or process is modified.
